Welcome to the Office of Faith Formation!

An essential element of faith has to do with catechesis.  Catechesis is teaching and handing down religious instructions to the current and next generation.  Learning about God and the Catholic Church enables us know, love and serve God.  Catechesis also helps us to live a moral life.

The Office of Faith Formation is available to help you achieve these goals.  Feel free to call us or e-mail us with any questions.

Pre-K thru 8th Grade Faith Formation

Catechesis for our youth is on Sunday after the 8:00 a.m. Mass. Throughout the year, opportunities are offered for additional fun and social activities for the whole family.  It is crucial to know that Parents are the first teachers of the faith for their children.  With that in mind, volunteer teachers are cooperating with Parents to help children grow in knowledge through their studies.  Parents who simply drop their children off for classes will more than likely hinder the spiritual growth of their children.

Vacation Bible School
In July of each year, children are invited to participate in Bible Activities at the parish.  VBS allows children to get together for mass, and participate in different fun activities to help them know and love God.

Great Adventures Bible Study
This course is designed by Jeff Cavins to help all Catholics be familiar with the Bible.  The Bible is not just a book, but a library of books, written by human beings, inspired by the Holy Spirit.  Great Adventures is a DVD series where individuals would come together, watch the DVDs, and have group discussions.  A workbook is also included.  The Bible Study is held on Tuesday and Thursday Evenings.  Please call Office of Faith Formation for additional questions.

Advent and Lenten Missions and Catechesis

Priests from the Western Dominican Province in CA come to St. Mary Parish twice a year to give a week long mission from  Monday - Thursday.  The priests will celebrate the weekend masses, as a prelude for their mission.  On Monday - Thursday, there will be two sessions each day, 9am and 7pm, followed by a talk, and followed by an opportunity for the Sacramnt of Confessions.

RCIA
Classes are offered on Wednesday Evenings beginning from October to Easter Vigil.  It is for those who are interested in becoming Catholic, and returning Catholics who have not received Confirmation.  These classes are offered on Wednesday from 7:00pm-8:30pm in room 8 of the Fr. Auer Center.  Please call 293-6882 if you are interested or know someone who is.
