St. Merryfest is a festival that draws several thousand people each year. It is organized by the St. Merrymakers, a parish fund-raising group. Proceeds from the St. Merryfest go to help the parish pay for liability insurance. Each year hundreds of free tickets are provided for needy children, thanks to local corporate and charitable help — like the local refinery, the Red Cross and St. Vincent DePaul. Corporate and private donations pay for the tickets, and charitable groups distribute them to needy families.

The first few years of the event included free tickets for needy children in Anacortes, but now poor children from throughout Skagit County benefit from the free ticket cause.

St. Merryfest happens at the beginning of every summer usually the 3rd week of June.  St. Merryfest is for the community in general and for the poor families whose children often do not have other opportunities for special summertime enjoyment.

St. Merryfest features the Cascade Amusements Carnival, live music, dance entertainment, and pulled pork sandwiches.

The St. Merrymakers also organize an auction every December in conjunction with the local St. Nicholas Advent Festival.
